Excellent hotel with free Wi-Fi, a cozy bar, and outdoor dining. The staff once even arranged a wake-up call for me. I recommend trying dinner here. It's the best! I'm coming back for Christmas.

Lovely location, excellent service and food. Quiet atmosphere which we loved and you can walk from the hotel around the area and Elterwater itself.

Manager and staff were really friendly, professional and very nice. Location is great facing wonderful Hill and land of Lake District, not too far from Albevalle if you want to spend time in town. Hotel is offering many different and classy lounge.
As the hotel is surely a bit old, it is a bit noisy when people are walking or closing bedroom doors. But is not that terrible and shall dépends also of winch bedroom you Will have

Stunning views from the front of the hotel , good food both at breakfast and dinner. Really pleasant and helpful staff
Poor room quality , no shower in either of the rooms we stayed in , we changed rooms after two nights of our stay , £110 a night for room 10 was very poor value for money.

In a great location surrounded by beautiful countryside. The food in the restaurant was excellent and the staff very helpful. No problems with parking on site and easy access to other Lake district locations.
A deluxe room (Cockly Moss) wasn't as luxurious as we expected, perhaps it would be a good idea to up-grade if it's for a special occassion - the room was quite small with limited views and a very small windowless bathroom.

Good food and service, very comfortable lounge facilities. Excellent location for walking.
Our room was a little 'tired', particularly the en-suite facility.

Excellent location in the heart of the Lake district. Food was also of a very high standard, but it was over priced and the portions were small.
Very poor cleaniness of the room, and was not upto standards we would expect when paying £155 per night. Stains in the toilet and we had to purchase cleaning materials in order to clean the Bathroom ourselves. The mattress was also very uncomfortable, being hard and we could feel the springs. Furthermore we had several spiders in our room, with cobwebs all over the lamps (until we cleaned them). Health and safety issues with the room as it was difficult to lock/unlock the room. In an emergency this would be very difficult to exit quickly. Insufficient milk, and no bottled water in the room. The staff were surly, and furthermore we did not feel that we could approach the owner as he was a 'Jekyll and Hyde' character who can't take any criticism about his hotel. All the above is a great shame as the location was stunning. We shall return to Eltermere but absolutely not to this Hotel. All style and no substance I'm afraid!

I loved the cozy atmosphere of Eltermere Inn, with its charming decor and inviting common areas. The warm colors and comfortable seating made it easy for me to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
More accessible facilities for seniors would be helpful.

Location excellent, a tad expensive, not a warm welcome nor a thankful goodbye, the more you spend at the hotel the more you are appreciated.
The owner was less than curtious.

the absolutely beautiful setting of the hotel in the hills of the Lakes District- the distinctive historical feel of the rooms - the presentation of food - especially breakfast and the welcoming by staff was a completely wonderful conclusion to my trip to the the UK

I had a lovely stay! The breakfast was delicious, especially the perfectly poached eggs, and my evening meal was good with beautifully presented dishes. My room was quite different from the picture shown on the website, lacking the expected views.

Its location; the building & grounds
Should have been a kingsize bed, was in fact a double; room was very cold despite the heating being on maximum; room quite small & uninspiring for the price; out dated furnishings
